We recently had the pleasure of coming across Tsilli Pines, a Northwest artist who uses Moab Entrada Rag papers in her collection of modern wedding certificates, called New Ketubah. Her Ketubahs are heirloom pieces personalized for each couple and made to order.
Naturally, she uses only the very best materials for longevity and for a tactile, luxurious quality. In addition to her modern take on a several-thousand-year-old tradition, what makes Tsilli's use of Entrada so special is that parts of the design are hand-sewn into the paper. As the WPPI show winds down, we wanted to thank all the people who came by to see us The initial reviews for our new Somerset Museum Rag have been phenomenal. The word that we heard the most to describe the paper was "sensuous." Contact us for samples so you can see how beautiful this paper truly is.
Before we sign off and pack up our booth, we wanted to highlight two events happening this afternoon:
Our good friend Christian LaLonde will be leading a Master Class on fine art printing from 3:30-5:30 PST in room #202. Chris will be printing his images on Entrada on the Canon Pro9500 MKII.
Will Crockett and Sarah Petty will be giving the final night presentation on portrait lighting at 5:00 PST in room 313. For those not at WPPI, the seminar will be broadcast live online and can be viewed at FridayPhotoSchool.com.
See you next year!
The Four P's of Moab
Day two at WPPI - This show is a BLAST! The overall mood and excitement at WPPI is overwhelmingly positive. It's good to see old friends and make new ones. We've had so many customers sharing success stories involving Moab that we have to take a moment and reflect on how truly grateful we are to our customers.
For those who swung by our booth you probably noticed the theme of the 4P's: Print, Present, Protect and Promote:
- Print your images on our fine art papers like Colorado Fiber Satine.
- Protect them using Desert Varnish or store them in Chinle Archival Boxes.
- Present them in the new Chinle Ice Nine portfolios
- Promote your work with the new Entradalopes scored cards and envelopes.
After the image is captured, Moab's got you covered. We hope to see more of you in Vegas.
New Somerset Museum Rag announced at WPPI
We're blogging live from our booth (#1618) at a very packed WPPI show in Las Vegas.
We're introducing a new paper we're really excited about, Somerset Museum Rag - a new 100% cotton fine art paper with the most advanced coating yet - as well as featuring our new Chinle Ice Nine portfolios and Entradalopes
We're also showcasing our 100% cotton Rising Museum Board. Rising is a used by the finest galleries, museums and framers worldwide and is a perfect complement to images printed on Moab papers.Robert Clark Photography
A great perk we have is being lucky enough to meet so many talented photographers whose images stop us dead in our tracks. Robert Clark is no exception.
An architect and graphic designer by training, Robert was always concerned about the paper being specified for his design projects. "It is a sensual concept. Fine paper feels good in your hands. To me the Entrada just feels good to hold. And it just prints so well."
Check out his gallery or if you're pressed for time, his print of the month.
New ICC profiles online for Canon iPF6300, 6350 and 8300 printers
Canon announced the new imagePROGRAF iPF6300, iPF6350 and iPF8300 printers on Monday, and we already have profiles created for these exciting new printers. These new printers have new functionality that enables users to have our paper names show up in the printer driver as well as the front panel on the printer. This is excellent functionality, as there is no more guessing as to which media type to use when using our papers.
The scoop on DSCOOP

All the wideformat printers will be running Moab paper plus we'll be showing off some new fine art 100% cotton papers that we're having coated and tested for the Indigo machines. Stay tuned.

FAQ: How do I fix banding in my prints?
Q: How do I fix banding in my prints?
A: This is a common issue, especially with Epson inkjet printers. There are some easy fixes, and we first have to identify what kind of banding you are seeing. There are 3 different types of banding:
- Dark banding

More details after the jump.Storing Rolls in Your Studio
We have numerous inkjet printers in our printing studio, and one of the challenges of having all of these printers is also where to store our paper. With numerous wide format printers, smaller desktop printers as well as myriad other supplies, it's important to maximize space and organization.
See how we tackled this in our studio after the jump.

Lauren Henkin at Blue Sky Gallery in Portland, OR
Moab Master photographer Lauren Henkin has been invited by Portland's (Oregon) Blue Sky Gallery to discuss her work, and Displaced, her new artist book (printed on Entrada Rag). Displaced is based on her self-imposed Nova Scotian exile.

Blue Sky is a non-profit space dedicated to educating the public about photography. Their special mission continues to be showing artists that no one has ever heard of, but will. As such, Blue Sky has been credited with having the best record of discovering new photographers of any artists' space in the country.
Hope to see you there.
