Lasal Exhibition Luster 300

Harold Davis: An Eclectic Collection

Moab Master, Harold Davis, is very excited to be exhibiting at Arts & Friends, a photography gallery in Heidelberg, Germany. The show, Harold Davis: An Eclectic Collection, will display two large prints, one on Slickrock Silver and Metallic Pearl. There are roughly twenty other prints in the show of varying sizes, printed on Awagami Kozo Washi, Slickrock Pearl and Lasal Exhibition Luster. All the prints are monochromatic. The exhibit runs from October 18 through November 16, 2014.

The gift that keeps on giving

As we round the corner into holiday chaos we thought we'd make one decision easier for you during this festive season: There's a Moab Paper for every type of photographer (and image).  We'd like to think Moab is on your year-round list of photo gear, but we found a few independent voices to present their faves.

Slickrock Metallic Pearl is one of our most popular papers that makes all types of prints shine, but it seems that B&W photographers have a special place in their hearts for Slickrock. PDN published this article last month.

Lasal Dual Semigloss is the newest paper in the Moab family, and Rangefinder Magazine included it on its annual Buyer's Guide. The article also features a 'Specialty Paper' section, which includes Moenkopi Washi and Entrada Rag.

Photo Techniques magazine also did a double-take (sorry, couldn't resist) and included Lasal Dual Semigloss in the December Gear App article.

Digital Photo Pro lists five Moab papers in their 2013 Pro Buyer's Guide, including the Lasal Exhibition Luster, which is an ideal paper for gallery and exhibition prints.

Moab wins two awards

As the year comes to a close we're excited to annouce two industry awards that Moab received. Professional Photographer's of America honored our Slickrock Metallic Pearl 260 and the Lasal Exhibition Luster 300 with HotOne 2012 awards in the Fine Art Paper category and the Semi-Gloss/Luster Paper category, respectively.

The Slickrock Metallic Pearl paper got another nod from the editors at Digital Photo magazine who gave the paper their Editor's Choice award.

It's only natural that we think our papers are awesome, but it's nice to be recognized once in a while by our industry.  If you haven't tried the Slickrock Metallic or Lasal Exhibition Luster papers yet (and want to find out what all the excitement is about) then contact us for a free sample.

Horowitz in China

Moab Master, Ryszard Horowitz, just had a recent exhibition in China that we wanted to share since it was printed entirely on the new Lasal Exhibition Luster 300.

Wheelock Square, located in the heart of Shanghai’s vibrant Nanjing West Road district, hosted an exclusive Shanghai retrospective of the works of this renowned Polish-American photo-artist.

In cooperation with the cultural program to celebrate the Polish Presidency in the European Union across China, the exhibition took place from October 20 to November 8 with ten of his most famous works on display in the vast open ground floor lobby of Wheelock Square.

Another rave review for Lasal Exhibition Luster

Shutterbug just wrote an in-depth review on our Lasal Exhibition Luster:

By George Schaub:
Let’s face it—some images just look better on a glossy surface. Yet, some folks spurn gloss for its “commercial” cachet and snapshot aesthetic. For those who prefer a “crisp” look to their prints but eschew gloss for practical and aesthetic reasons, a paper like the new Lasal Exhibition Luster could do the trick.

Experience Moab at PhotoPlus Booth #446

We attend a bunch of trade shows throughout the year, but we aim to make each experience unique for our Moab fans out there.  Next week we'll be exhibiting at PhotoPlus Expo in NYC (booth #446) and we guarantee to deliver on this Moab Experience.

If you haven't seen our new Slickrock Metallic Pearl paper, then you're in for a thrill. We've pushed the envelope to deliver a metallic pearl paper that will transform your image into something stellar.  Our metallic gallery will demonstrate the power of this paper that you've literally got to see to believe.  Be sure to grab the printed samples that we'll be giving away.

Another new paper that we'll be showing off is our Lasal Exhibition Luster 300.  This is not your mama's photo luster.  Lasal Exhibition Luster is a hefty 300gsm paper that produces images that will blow you away.  Thanks to the latest state-of-the-art, fourth generation coating (4G anyone?), you'll see stunning details in your images that only your photo sensors were privy to (until now).

We'll also be featuring our Moenkopi Japanese Washi paper at the show. Photographer Geoffrey Agrons printed out some stunning images on the Moenkopi Bizan that will make you drool.

Speaking of drooling.  We'll be featuring original photographs from Enzo Beretta, Andy Biggs, Robert Farber, Jim Graham, Joshua Holko, Ryszard Horowitz, Christian Lalonde, Jim LaSala, Michael Soluri, Salvatore Vasapolli and Michael Zide.

Oh, and the free passes.  Click here and fill out the online form and you'll be good to go.

Lasal Exhibition on Exhibition

We're always on the lookout for exhibits where the photographers printed on Moab, so we're especially pleased to learn that Scott Frances used our new Lasal Exhibition Luster 300 for his MonoVisioN show that opens on Tuesday June 21st 2011 @ the (fittingly) Decoration & Design Building in midtown Manhattan.

Frances is best known for his architectural photography.  If you think Lasal Exhibition Luster does wonders for skin tones, you've got to see what it does for buildings.

The opening reception will be held from 6pm – 8pm, Tuesday June 21st 2011 @ The D & D Building, 222 East 59th Street between 2nd and 3rd Ave.

Please be sure to RSVP to RSVP@DDBuilding.com or 212.759.5408

Object of Desire

The new Lasal Exhibition Luster 300 was selected by PDN magazine for this month's Object of Desire by gear-guru and tech editor, Dan Havlik.

"Even if you’re not planning a gallery show any time soon, crank out of few of your photos on Lasal Exhibition Luster 300 and the wheels in your head will start spinning. Images printed on this paper demand to be exhibited."

WPPI 2011

We just completed another WPPI (Wedding & Portrait Photographer's Association) show and we're exhausted. The convention center at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas was packed all three days with many photographers making a point to visit our booth to see the new Lasal Exhibition Luster 300 paper. We think it's safe to say they were not disappointed.

We had a gorgeous 44" print using an image courtesy of Moab Master, Chris Lalonde (see above). Everyone was blown away by all the detail in the deep, dark blacks.  If you want to give it a test drive, get your free sample to experience this extraordinary new paper.

We also showcased Somerset Museum Rag 300 using a stunning wedding from Moab Master, Jim Graham. The paper continues to receive awards for best new fine art paper (the latest from the Professional Photographer's Association).  If you've tried it, you'll know why everyone's talking about Somerset.  If you haven't tried it, click here to request a sample.

We also exhibited with our Museo buddies who presented their popular 100% cotton artist cards and the awesome Silver Rag.

Thanks to all the Moab fans who visited our booth.

New Lasal Exhibition Luster 300

We spent the better part of the last year speaking (and, more importantly, listening) to as many of you as we could.  Trade shows, e-mails, phone calls, in-store events - we asked what you wanted and we set out to make it happen.

What we heard most often was the demand for a luster paper with weight and rigidity of an exhibition grade that won't break the bank.  Oh, and it has to print better than anything on the market.

Many months and trials later, we're proud to present Lasal Exhibition Luster 300

At 300gsm, Lasal Exhibition Luster is ideal for exhibition and gallery quality prints. Using a bleeding-edge fourth-generation coating, we've been able to produce a paper with an expanded color gamut never before seen in a luster paper.

Named after the La Sal mountains, whose snowy peaks tower above Moab keeping watch on the canyon lands below, Lasal Exhibition Luster 300 remains true to its namesake, incorporating many of the elements found in the surrounding Moab environment: pure crispy whites and deep, luscious colors.

Profiles?  Yeah, we've got them too and we're adding more every week.
